WHAT IS THE WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?

Our worship service lasts approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. Our music is blended in an attempt to balance traditional hymns and contemporary praise which is led by a small team of vocalists and accompanied by a piano, guitars, and percussion.

It is our tradition to share together in the Lord's Supper (remembering the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross) every Sunday. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, we encourage you to take the juice and the bread. During this quiet time of meditation, the bread and juice may be taken individually when ready. Please place empty cups in the pew racks.

Please do not feel obligated to give during the offering time; this is for our regular attendees and members.

Our worship service includes a time of Bible teaching followed by an "invitation/decision" time to respond as the Lord leads.

  • Discover Garden City

Discover Garden City is an introduction to the church and serves to acquaint you with our beliefs, purpose, and personality. This special event happens in the Fellowship Hall on a Sunday evening once several times each year. It meets from 6-8PM with a light meal served. Call the church office (812-372-1766) or check the church calendar for the next session. Mark your yellow card during the service to let us know of your interest in attending.

  • Church Membership

What do we expect of our members? Membership at GCCC is an invitation to play in the game, not just ‘sit on the bench.’ We believe a member of our church, seeking to follow Christ, will exhibit Kingdom priorities. We can summarize these ideas into ‘Three S’s’: Sunday, Small Groups, Serving.

    Sunday includes:

    1) A two hour Sunday morning commitment (both worship and Sunday School)

    2) Partaking of the Lord’s Supper each Sunday

Small Groups happen in many ways, but the main mechanism at Garden City is our Connection Group ministry; we encourage all members to join a Connection group.

Serving takes many forms both inside and outside the church, but should include:

    1) Use of spiritual gifts in serving

    2) Prayer and financial support of the church

    3) Loving one another, including practicing biblical conflict resolution 4) Reproduction (sharing your faith and walk with others)
