SERVE IN THE CHURCH

  • cONNECTION TEAM

Every Sunday is someone's first Sunday. We are building and developing teams of people to welcome new and returning guests each Sunday. This includes greeters, prayer partners, parking lot attendants, bulletin coordinators, and Connection Center helpers. If you would like to help, please contact Phil Newton.

    • Greeters: Church members who welcome the people God has brought to our church have the opportunity to influence these visitors in a positive way. 2 Corinthians 5:20 states, "We are Christ's ambassadors." Serving as a greeter is representing Jesus Christ in that first important connection with visitors. Contact Sondra Umphress if you would like to be a part of this team.

    • Prayer Partners: Prayer is very important in the life of every Christian and we strive to encourage every Christ follower to be a praying servant. Prayer connects us to God and what He is doing.

Please pick-up the prayer list each Sunday morning at the Connection Center. You can also receive the weekly prayer list via email along with any updates during the week. To join, send an email to gccc@gardencitychurch with “Prayer list” typed in the body. If you have a prayer request you may write it on your yellow attendance card on Sunday mornings or call the church office.

    • Visitation: People matter to both God and us. Individuals need to know that they are missed and loved. Join the team to show you care about those who are: Homebound, Hospitalized, or in a Nursing Home. Contact Brian Gilroy, Lead Minister.

Tips: Spend time listening, Give the gift of touch, Offer to pray with/for them, Leave something with them as a reminder of your visit like a card, a flower, last week's bulletin or sermon cd, food, etc.
