Kingdom Workers

Be the hands and feet of Jesus!

If you have a relationship with Jesus, you’re a part of his Kingdom and you’re called to do Kingdom work.

Kingdom work helps us understand that we are never more like Jesus than when we give and serve.

Be on the watch throughout the year for opportunties to serve with our ministry partners in the community.

New Song Mission— Service Projects— September 19, 20, & 21

We will have multiple opportunities available in September for our congregation to connect to others through service. New Song Mission, one of our ministry partners, will be the focus of our efforts through the following projects:

  • Building a fire pit area
  • Installing a commercial-grade swing set
  • Constructing a walking bridge over a small ravine
  • A book drive to help build their on-campus library (Requested books only)
  • Collection of non-perishable food and paper products

Sign-ups with detailed information about each project will be available in the foyer starting September 1. Please contact Cindy Smock with questions. We hope you will plan to join us as we connect with and bless New Song Mission through our efforts!

Pastoral Ministry

Prayer is very important in the life of every Christian and we strive to encourage every Christ follower to be a praying servant. Prayer connects us to God and what He is doing. If you have a prayer request you may write it on your yellow attendance card on Sunday mornings or call the church office (812-372-1766).

People matter to both God and us. Individuals need to know that they are missed and loved. Join the team to show you care about those who are: Homebound, Hospitalized, or in a Nursing Home.

Tips: Spend time listening, Give the gift of touch, Offer to pray with/for them, Leave something with them as a reminder of your visit like a card, a flower, last week's bulletin or sermon cd, food, etc.

A praise band leads our worship each Sunday morning blending traditional hymns and contemporary praise with the help of volunteer audio and visual techs. Practice is held each week on Thursday evenings at 6:30PM. If you like to join any part of our praise team, please contact Colin Martin.

God gives us many gifts and talents. If you would like to share your gift during our specials time, please contact Kyla Martin.

Choir & Drama

Share God's love by sharing your gifts in the arts through our Choir or Dramatization! Contact Ann Mullins for more information.

CALLING ALL SINGERS!! Praise Choir happens Tuesdays, from August to May from 7-8:30PM. All, 7th graders through adults, who have a desire to sing praises and bring honor to our Lord by using your talents to come and be a part of the choir.

1 Peter 4:10—Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. Interested in serving our church in a creative way? We are looking for people, ages 12 and older, that would like to express God’s truth in an imaginative and powerful way. This ministry team will use drama/skits, music, short videos, and even dance in our worship services.

Greeters & Servers

Greeting Ministry:

Church members who welcome the people God has brought to our church have the opportunity to influence these visitors in a positive way. 2 Corinthians 5:20 states, "We are Christ's ambassadors." Serving as a greeter is representing Jesus Christ in that first important connection with visitors. Contact Sondra Umphress if you would like to be a part of this team.

Worship Server:

GCCC's worhip server team is made up of our deacons and other men in our Congregation. When you are a worship server, you help lay the groundwork for the worship experience and you are part of God’s redemption story. Any Sunday that you desire to serve, simply sign your name in servers' book located at our reception desk. If you have never had the opportunity to serve before, contact Joe Clark or Terry Huntsman for guidance.
